The Government claims that the legislation will only affect a small minority of people [insert ref]. In fact, pornography has never been so popular. The evidence overwhelmingly establishes that people like pornography. It has never been so popular.

Attempts to censor pornographic and lascivious material have a long history. In the 1950's the debate centered around Crime Comics: "Battling Crime Comics to Protect Youth," 19 Federal Probation 26 (September, 1955) Censorship of Comics Bibliography [Fill in reference to Bettie Page etc.] Are these proposals doomed to look equally foolish in retrospect or is there a significant harm against which society needs to be protected?

Other people who may be affected are the producers and viewers of Art, Films and Fashion Photography. This depends upon how Pornography might be defined by the proposed law, and how this definition might subsequently be interpretted.
