Petitions
- A Statement of support by the Consenting Adult Action Network "We believe in the right of consenting adults to make their own sexual choices, in respect of what they do, see and enjoy alone or with other consenting adults, unhindered and unfettered by government. We believe that it is not the business of government to intrude into the sex lives of consenting adults." - This is open ended, and does not have a closing date.
- CLOSED on 09 July 2008 "We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Withdraw section 6 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill, 2007. If this Section becomes Law, it will create a 'thought crime' as described by George Orwell in the book '1984'. If enacted, it would remain lawful to own and to display publicly extreme, violent images intended to sell (advertising), to excite (video games), to entertain (gore/ horror films), to inform (TV news) and to be worshipped (crucifix). Ownership of only one category of extreme imagery would become a criminal offence meriting three years in prison; material intended to arouse sexually. That is, a state of mind of the user/ owner would become illegal. Actions and effects on others are valid reasons for the State to punish individuals. Thoughts and feelings are not."
- CLOSED on 20 February 2007 "We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Abandon plans to make it a criminal offence to possess "violent pornography"" ANSWERED on 25th April 2007
- A petition against the government proposals from the unfettered website, in either .doc or .rtf or .pdf format.
- Petition used by the Jane Longhurst Campaign Against Violent Pornography "We the undersigned object to the presence of extreme internet sites promoting violence against women in the name of sexual gratification. We note the recent horrific murder of Brighton school teacher Jane Longhurst was by a man who had become an avid user of corrupting internet sites such as ‘necrobabes’, ‘death by asphyxia’ and ‘hanging bitches’. We support the call by the family of Jane Longhurst for the Government and Internet Service Providers to take action to block access to these sites; for an overhaul of the Obscene Publications Act to make it a criminal offence to possess such images; for better international cooperation to close down sites hosted abroad and for internet images in the UK to be included in the remit of OFCOM" used on the website of MP Martin Salter
- Petition to extend the law to cover a wider range of pornographic imagery, such as R18 videos on the 10 Downing Street E-Petitions site, promoted by Mediawatch UK.
