Consultation Paper

Hi Mr Lucky

Note your comments about the so called "consultation". I don't suppose
anyone will want to own up to writing this sham. Favorite culprit as originator
of this and the new law is old catholic Gogg himself as he seems to have had
most to say on the matter, at least until Croaker took over.

Reason I placed consultation in quotes am even more cynical now in the light
of events.
Seems it was just a smokescreen or fob off as they would legislate
regardless of the results and ignoring all independant professional opinion.

Wonder what a lawyer could make of this situation?

"The Code stipulates that you should write a comprehensive report summarising the responses you have received. This should be published on the departmental website within three months of the closing date of the consultation."

-from the Cabinet Office code of practice for Consultations
Well that one wasn't adhered to for a start!

"2.3 As far as possible, consultation should be completely open, with no options ruled out. However, if there are things that cannot be changed because, for example, they are part of a European Directive or due to prior Ministerial commitments, then make this clear. The risks and consequences of doing nothing should be outlined."

From the above code of practice.
I am pretty sure that the document,if not totally ruling it out is heavily biased against the "do nothing" option.

The code of practice is here-
