A very good, although somewhat belated, BBC forum on the topic. One can only hope some of these folks will write to their MP and the HO...

Yes, it is encouraging that, so far, on that BBC article, there's 117 comments posted, and barely any in support of this sickening new legislation. But remember how many protested over Fuel Tax? Millions, yes? What slack did the goverment cut? FUCK ALL! Fuel taxes still keep on rising!
I am very pessimistic about all this, the moral illuminati that is our 'Holy Govermnent of God Himself' are never going to listen to the thick, unwashed general public.
The only way is to get rid of New Labour by NOT voting them in the next elections... but who to vote instead? Conservative? They will display the same self-righteous piggery as New Labour!
LibDems? They might cry 'freedom', but I bet they too will support criminising porn... BNP? I don't think so! Who does that leave left? Minority Christian and Islamic parties... religious dickwads! We'll all be executed instead of imprisoned! Monster Raving Loony is probably the only party that will reject outright this puke-inducing law!
Even if New Labour get voted out - I would not be suprised if what happened in Burma, happens here too. Maybe then the rest of NATO would declare war on the new National Socialist Republic of New Labour's United Kingdom. At least if we come under the rule of countries like Germany and Holland we might get some sensible leadership and TRUE liberty!
I think the only hope for us is pressure from the folks in Strasbourg, there is no way our stuck-up 'authority figure' bastards are EVER going to back down otherwise!
RIP Freedom 30 August 2006.
Actually freedom died in 1997, when that bastard Blair took the reins of state!

This is also a reasonably good thread in the Guardian online

I also wrote to the BBC news editors; I hope they will be more sympathetic to our cause in the future.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Editors,
I am very pleased to see Craig Oliver's blog on the issue of "extreme" porn. As you can see from the multitude of eloquent postings, there are very many people out there who disagree with these tendentious and draconian proposals. Indeed, the majority of individual responses to the Home Office consultation were also opposed to new laws; a fact the government is disgracefully trying to ignor. Some of the reporting we have seen in the media has presented a very biased perspective on this story. Grieving relatives might make for good news, but they certainly don't make for good law-making! I don't wish to presume the position of the BBC on this issue, but I hope you will continue to give this school of reasoned opinion the publicity which it merits.
Yours,
