Today the Uk government annouced new lgislation to criminalise possession of "extreme pornography" I heard the tale end of the report about this on the R4 world at one. V Coaker was interviewd by a not very sympathetic BBC reporter and I heard VC spout a damned lie. To wit that the vast majority of respondants to the consultation where pro the proposal. He falteringly hedged about and mentioned police and un named women's groups. We are governed by damned liars What the hell is going on in this country? Where do we go from here? ECHR?

In the "Sunday Telegraph" this week there was an article pointing out the fraudulence of Government "consultations"-they only are interested in those agreeing with what they want. Here we have a classic example. I said a while back that with Bliar at the helm I always fear the worst-and here it is once more. The opinions of the respondants,the vast majority opposed to this evil rubbish,have made virtually no change to what was presented in the CP last year. When legislation appears,it is to be hoped that there will be at least some significant amendments in Committee and the Lords to draw some of its teeth. After that there are the domestic courts and the ECHR. There can be little doubt that such legislation as has been outlined is directly in contradiction to the Convention on Human Rights and its domestic counterpart the HRA. The legislation cannot be directly struck down by "incompatable" verdicts from these-however,the retention of such legislation in the face of such incompatability verdicts would be quite extraordinary-and would call into question the legitimacy of the UK being in the Convention at all-as the regime in the UK are not upholding the "rules of the club". I doubted all along that Blair's mob would fail go ahead with this-despite the objections from sane people about how this "law against looking" made this country unique in the western world. It is truly the first step in the control freak police state we are being led into by "ID" Bliar's lunatic regime.
