First impressions, there's nothing in this that seems any better than
a free application that is available in a lot of places. In any case,
I would NEVER support any firm that used spamming to market its
products, as I imagine this mail was. IMO we have to fight spam
actively by deliberately shunning unethical businesses. Someone who
spams would likely think nothing of installing spyware on your PC and
certainly could be expected to sell on your e-mail address.

Maybe as you say we don't need it so urgently, but it's good policy to
clean your hard disc this way every so often, in the same way as we
(should) defragment a drive when it gets slow.

I've been trying to get together some useful info on this and related
questions to post on the website and have been trying to contact
people with the right expertise. Without great success so far.
