Hi Al
Hope you had a good trip. The Byelection results seem to indicate that New
Labour's days are numbered and Tony Blair's in particular! Think he is too
busy messing about all over the world to be involved with our business. In
the Oval Office, "Can I rim you now, George!" etc.
Reckon Reid will be rather too busy as well so that now Goggs has gone
"Croaker" will be the politician dealing with the civil servants drafting the new
proposals.
The more I read of the adverse effect of sex laws in the "Land of the Free"
the more I see those civil servants blundering into something about which
they haven't a clue. It must be a fantasy in the States thinking they are free
when they are pushing chemical castration and
the chap who owned the site leading to Operation Ore received a sentence of
over 1,300 years!
"Is Megan's Law a vigilantes' charter?" Times2 29.06.06 page 8
Mentions two cases, a youth who slept with his girl friend a week before she
was 16 and her father grassed him up and a man totally drunk and incapable
when his daughter's friend crawled into bed with him. She said, "There was a
touch but it was not rape."
Both were men entered on the dreaded list, a vigilante nutter saw their
names and addresses, called at their homes and shot them dead!
Commenting on this, leading Attorney William Buckman of the National
Association of Criminal Defence Lawyers said, "Basing laws on horrific,
inflammatory crimes is always a bad idea." (Longhurst Trust please note)
Another expert who I found on Google, Robert E. Freeman-Longo, MRC, LPC with
experience of running a hospital department treating sex offenders predicted
this sort of situation in 1996 when the law was passed now he says: "Megan's
Law, is one example of what I call "feel-good legislation" that has led to
worse conditions rather than the betterment or safety of society."
So we have to fight against "Jane's Law" being introduced into UK and one
can only hope that now demred has two psychologists for our cause that HO can be
further enlightened regarding medical and legal opinion against the knee
jerk proposals.

Hello
I have mentioned this before . UK members need to be aware that our
wonderfool government is pressing ahead with a new law to jail you for possessing so
called extreme porn. We don't yet know exactly what they will specify as
banned but you can bet your liberty its going to include realistic ie real photos
vids etc of hanging and strangling with or without sexual activity.
This a deadly serious we could go to jail for THREE YEARS so visit the
following sites and take action if you can

Hi Al
Quite agree with your action as the more the merrier against this "copper's
charter"
Am not sure how much impact us perves will have on HO clerks drafting
proposed legislation
but if we can find plenty of independant expert opinion to write reports
against censorship they should take notice. Also many MP's may voice their
opposition when they see the proposals. The most obvious springs to mind," What
is the definition of extreme porn?"
Doubt that clueless 'nillas will be able to define it and, if not, left to
individual policemen there
are sure to be grave anomilies and injustice.
Then, after conviction, there is also the possibility of attack by vigilante
thugs. Did you see already here in UK they burned down the house of a
paediatrician? The mob was so ignorant
they thought that was another word for paedophile! The emotion and hysteria
raised could be worse for us if journalists, horrid hacks, cast us as po
tential killers as proposed legislation
indicates.
If the situation is so serious with the so called effect of extreme porn why
has there been no similar crimes to Coutts? Correct me if I am wrong, but
the internet has been prominent for about 10 years and in this time has Coutts
been the only one? If this is the case then it proves our case that the
legislation will be useless. We know there were thrill killers before the
internet which is additional evidence in our favour to prove that psycho's conjure
up their own fatal fantasies far worse and independant of, any pictures,
they may see.

Sorry to hear of the lack of response to Alan's excellent letter to the Berks MPs; my correspondences to Salter have been met with a similar silence.
I also note that it was not added to the Reading Post site? My comments, and those of others, to the Longhurst news article initially failed to appear until I complained to the editors.
