Hi Alan
Great letter, very succinctly put. Gives our case in a short, sharp, hard
hitting message.
Now I am wondering if you or another wordsmith could somehow interpolate a
warning to Labour MP's as they are concerned with votes and saving their seats
more than anything else.
Yesterdays Times, June 26, says "Tories win in redraw of political
landscape." The changes made by Boundary Commission will put Labour at risk in more
marginals. Times chief political correspondent says it will only take a
national swing of 1% to wipe out Labour's overall Commons majority at the next
election. Day by day the over taxed, over regulated, nanny state becomes more
unpopular so we should see a bigger swing than that! Even Charles Clarke
against them now!
So is it possible to inform them, tactfully to be effective, that proposed
new laws intruding into people's bedrooms and private sex lives will lose them
votes. Durex survey shows more than 50% into handcuffs, etc. and if this is
not a precise analogy with our BDSM remember
the quote, "It's not what things are but what they can be made to seem that
matters!"
