Has anyone any idea of time scale involved in parliamentry proceedure? My
guess is that it could be towards the end of next year before a new law could
pass through all stages in both Houses and come into effect. Maybe even
later, and if some one could give a realistic forecast then we can delay cleaning
up our computers until absolutely necessary.

I think it would be very unlikely to see anything before the second half of next year. There is no need to do anything drastic yet as we will get weeks if not months of warning before royal assent of any bill.
