Hi All,
Interesting!
http://www.ofwatch.org.uk/
The response of David Cameron to Mediawatch has certainly ruffled their feathers. Do we have any more news on the Tories position with regards to "extreme" porn? I wrote to David Davis recently, but no reply yet...

when we had our meeting with a leading Tory MP he advised us on how to sell our viewpoint to the Home Office and how to play the political game. He was very clear that the Tory party would not stray too far from the Daily Mail mindset. Things may ahev changed.
We do need to follow up Amelie and Silver's work.
If we could get a list of MP's reponses and then get local members to do follow ups, that'd be fab.
As a contribution, here is the list of MPs that have backed Diane Abbotts call for boys mags to be moved to top shelves....

But all this will do is make it easier (less embarrasing) for people to buy pornography at the shops!
I'm also concerned at the number of Lib Dem MPs on this list as I scan through it. I thought they might be a party we could some useful business with...

The thing is, that motion is a "to protect the children" one, ie to stop
them seeing/ getting this stuff (yeah, sure!), rather than restrict the
rights of adults to make up their own minds, so the Lib Dems can sign
off on it without worrying it will weaken their position.
Cheers,
Graham.

The point is here are 100 MPs for whom, protecting the innocent from sex is an issue. We acn approach them and appeal to their obvious desire to do the right thing and -- without any refernce to the early day moption -- explain to them how they would be overstepping the mark, doing the wrong thing if they were to support current proposals on extreme porn.

Both the Liberal party and the "new" Conservative party should be open to suggestions that the violent porn bill is wrong. Liberals because they are hopefully liberal anyway and Conservatives as they appear to be keen to appeal to the sizable liberal minority to boast their chances of getting into office.
