freedom of expression march....

Can someone check this out and -- if appropriate -- write up a statement of support

Hi,

We are going to hold a rally in Trafalgar Square on March 25th in support of freedom of _expression. Details can be found at:

http://marchforfreeexpression.blogspot.com

We'd welcome a statement of support from you. If you gave us one, we would blog it and link to your site.

We'd also be glad if you put the word out about this rally. The more people who attend the better.

Of course, your campaign falls cleanly within the issue we are addressing.

Regards,

Peter Risdon.

Looking at the list of supporters listed on their web page, including
http://www.freemuslims.org/ I see no racist intents.

I think this is great. Respect to you, mate. Sadly cannot come to march due
to no
available babysitter but will be there in thought...

I am trying to get a few student friends of mine interested in going
along. Not easy drumming up support but I was wondering if anyone here
could attend this weekend? I had an idea, and it isn't directly
Backlash related (though certainly entails Backlash's aims). I wanted
to have a little group and call it Freaks For Speech (acronym FFS
which is internet lingo for "For Fuck's Safe").

It would basically be a group emphasising freedom of discussion and
association over the internet and since most of my friends are geeks
of various sorts, they would be happy to go along with that and we
could of course hand out Backlash flyers along with any other flyers
we had. Rather than those rather unfunny Danish cartoons, I was
thinking of going along with posters/t-shirts of Dr Zoidberg, the
famous freedom loving lobster from the cult cartoon series Futurama:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Zoidberg

He was once arrested for ingesting the Planet Earth flag during
Freedom Day and The Head of President Nixon wanted to have him
executed. So I cannot think of a better group representative for
Freaks and Geeks everywhere. The group would merely emphasise how
freedom of speech is actually IN FAVOUR of minority interests rather
than set against it, as current identity politics seems to be getting
confused over that matter.

Anyone tempted?
