given the SE and the HOme Office are about to publish their report we need to get a move on
we need to prepare our response for the press
we need to be ready to contact all the organisations that were pro-legislation and put our case
we need to have flyers ready
We need to be ready to contact MPs.
We need an on-line campaign ready.
If you can help with this or suggest other ways to help, please get in touch.

I have written to ALL of the Scottish councils who supported the legislation (see below). It might make a bigger impact if a similar letter was written from Backlash in a more official capacity, rather than from an individual (who isn't even Scottish to be fair!).

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have just read the response of XXX Council to the Scottish Executive consultation on "extreme" internet content
http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Resource/Doc/etc...
This is a highly tendentious and controversial area of proposed governmental policy, which does not enjoy overwhelming public support by any means.

As a citizen of this country and as a tax-payer, I would be grateful if you might spare me a few moments to address the following requests, in the interests of transparency in local government.
1. Can you provide me with details of what democratic/representative process took place regarding the formation of the council's response to this consultation?
2. Was any independent research undertaken by the council with regards to the material in question, supporting the conclusions and answers given in your response? In particular, do you have any evidence of a even a single website where REAL non-consensual activities (rather than acted simulations) are openly featured?
I look forward to hearing from you on this important matter,
Yours Faithfully,
